Matthew is one of the New Testament’s interesting personalities. He was a hated tax-collector yet Jesus called him to become a disciple. Matthew left everything and followed Jesus. What he did next, though, is even more interesting. He threw a dinner party for Jesus and his fellow disciples. He then invited all his tax-collector friends and other “sinners” to come hang out with Jesus. Everybody was having a great time until the religious guys showed up!
