Book Review- Amplified Leadership by Dan Reiland

Dan Reiland is the executive pastor at 12Stone Church, near Atlanta, Georgia, one of the fastest growing churches in America. His book Amplified Leadership- 5 Practices to Establish Influence, Build People, and Impact Others for a Lifetime is a phenomenal leadership guide. Having worked for John Maxwell for twenty years, Reiland learned under the best. His experience at 12Stone has given him an even broader platform to know what it takes to develop leaders in a large, influential organization.

In Amplified Leadership, Dan provides us with the process that 12Stone Church has successfully use in developing leaders. The five sections of the book are the five steps of taking someone who is new to our organization to the place of becoming an influential leader.

The five steps are:

  1. Establish a Relationship.
  2. Engage a Follower.
  3. Embrace a Team Member.
  4. Coach an Apprentice.
  5. Mentor a New Leader.

Dan is a great writer and the book is an easy read, packed with stories and real-life examples. The material in the book, however, is life-changing. These principles provide a framework for any church or organization to use in developing leaders for years to come.

It is one thing to say that we believe in developing leaders. It is quite another to actually have a system in place to make it happen. Sadly, most churches would rather than wing it than create a process to create more leaders. If your organization doesn’t have a system, check out Amplified Leadership. It will help you get started in raising up the next generation of leaders.
