Black Friday Shopping

This is the time of the year that things get interesting. Everybody starts to get in the holiday spirit. If you live anywhere near a retail area, traffic is going to pick up. We lived about a mile and a half from the Mall of Georgia. During the Christmas shopping season, if you turned left out of our neighborhood, you were probably ok. If you turned right, back towards the mall, it might take you 30 minutes or more to cover that mile and a half.

Needless to say, I did not turn right very often. I hate shopping, even when there are no crowds. Being able to shop on-line is one of the greatest inventions ever. I would have to put it right up there with manned space flights and moon landings (if you believe that sort of thing). To be able to do all of your Christmas shopping while sitting on the couch in your underwear is true progress.

Now I understand that there are some people that just enjoy the adrenaline rush of holiday shopping. There are even people in my family that fall into this category. They love the 30 minute drive to the mall that is a mile and a half away. They enjoy driving around the parking lot for 20 minutes trying to find a parking space. They enjoy the frenzy of a mall packed full of shoppers carrying Starbuck’s cups and several bags of purchases. They enjoy looking for the perfect gift and then waiting in a long line to pay for it.

Or you could sit on your couch in your underwear and catch up on The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad, doing your Christmas shopping online. I even have a few suggestions to help you get that perfect gift! A simple click here will take you to my books page. My two Street Cop books are full of riveting, true, stories from my thirty year career as a police officer. Some will make you laugh, some will disturb you, but all are guaranteed to entertain.

I also have two books to help deepen your knowledge of the Bible. Peter and Paul in Acts is a great study of the history of the early Church as seen in The Acts of the Apostles. Miracles in Mark is a fascinating look at all of the miracles that Jesus performed in Mark’s Gospel. The chapters are short and Miracles in Mark can be a great individual or small group study guide. Leading into the 21st Century…and Beyond is my latest book. It is a revised collection of my most popular posts on leadership, management, supervision, and time management.

All of my books are available via Kindle or hard copy. Amazon will even let you read the first chapter or two to see if you will like it. These books are great stocking stuffers. Or if you don’t want to go to the trouble of wrapping them, you can just buy it online and Amazon will send your uncle or your mom the link to download to his or her Kindle or iPad.

Remember, if you live in the US, your gift to help us keep sharing the Gospel in Brazil is tax-deductible. Just click here. Obrigado! (Thank you!)

Book Excerpt- Are All Religions True?

This is an excerpt from my book Reflections on the Resurrection. I hope you enjoy it! This thought seems to be a common one about religion and runs throughout much of society. Maybe you have heard one of the following statements: “All paths eventually lead to the same God.” “All religions teach the same basic
