Annie and I just finished up a two and a half week ministry trip to Brazil and I wanted to tell you about it! This was our first trip to South America in two years and it was thrilling to see what God is doing in our C3 Churches there. We started in Santos where Pastors Fabio and Dani Aguieiras planted the first South American Christian City Church. Annie and I had the privilege of celebrating their fourteenth church anniversary while we were there.
We did a leaders meeting, spoke at the anniversary celebration, preached on Sunday, and spent some great one-on-one time with the pastors and key leaders at C3 Santos. Pastors Fabio and Dani have been great friends for a long time and they have built a growing and thriving church in this important city just outside of São Paulo.
Our next stop was an hour away in São Bernardo do Campo and C3 Church SBC. We had the privilege of helping Pastors Sidnei and Raquel Duarte plant this church in 2015. Ten years later, C3 SBC continues to grow and thrive in the densely packed São Paulo metropolitan area. We conducted several meetings for Pastors Sidnei and Raquel and spent quality time with their team.
Church planting is not for the faint of heart and seeing both of these São Paulo area churches continue to thrive is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and grace, along with the tenacity and commitment of their leaders. It thrills Annie and I to see so many people who have gotten saved in these churches, were discipled there, and now are serving in various positions of leadership. God is good!
Annie and I lived in Curitiba for five years and served at C3 Church Curitiba. That was our next visit. We did several meetings for Pastors Ronald and Chris Berg and also got to spend time with their leadership team, along with many of the wonderful friends that we made while living there.
The two couples that we are hanging out with in the photos above were part of our connect group when we lived there. It is so encouraging seeing many of the people that we invested in continuing to thrive in church and in life!
The two young men leading worship in the photo below reminded me that I baptized them twelve years before. I would have never remembered that as they are all grown up now! What a blessing that they are serving in the House of God by leading others into God’s Presence.
Our last stop was at our newest church in Brazil. C3 BC is located in the beautiful coastal city of Balneário Camboriú.
While known as a resort town, BC is home to a population of 150,000 permanent residents and Pastors Eliezer and Carla are building a church to reach their community. We had a great meeting with their church and I spoke on “Becoming Friends with the Holy Spirit.”
Four cities, four churches, and so many stories. We saw several people commit their lives to Christ, while many others rededicated their lives to him. We laid hands on so many people, praying with them for a variety of needs. Thank you for partnering with us and helping us to continue serving God’s people all around the world. Brazil still fills a big place in our hearts and we love to see what God continues to do there.
