Remembering Who We Are

During these days of uncertainty and unsettledness, it is easy to forget that there is so much more going on than we what can just see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell, touch, or taste. We were made for eternity and created to inherit a Kingdom. Even after a virus impacted the entire world and political tension and financial challenges never seem to go away, our lives do not have to be shaken. This is the hour for Christians to remember who they are.

This video clip from The Lion King is a great picture of our need to remember Who our Father is. If we could remember every day that our Father is the Great King, the Lord of the Universe, the Creator of everything, it would transform the way we live.

“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” (Romans 8:15-18)
