“Sometimes the greatest act of faith is faithfulness, staying where you are planted. Years from now you may look back and thank God that you decided to stay when it would have been easier to go.” Craig Groeschel
All of us have wanted to walk away. We’ve wanted to walk away from our marriage, our job, our church, maybe even from our lives. Every man has had those conversations in their head. Maybe you are having one right now.
“She doesn’t appreciate everything I do for this family.”
“My boss is an idiot and doesn’t care about anything but his next promotion.”
“That church is only concerned about getting more of my money.”
But is waking away the answer? When you look back in 5 or 10 or even 20 years, will you be glad that you left? Or will you be wondering if you missed God’s best by staying?
It takes a strong man to remain faithful in a difficult circumstances. It is often in our faithfulness that we get a clearer picture of our situation.
You might find out that she really does appreciate you, but doesn’t know how to express it because of how she was raised.
That boss might very well be an idiot but is struggling with his own insecurities and personal problems.
You might just discover that church is much more concerned with helping you grow than it is in getting something from you.
Proverbs ask the question, “A faithful man who can find?”
Hopefully, one can be found with you and me!
