“Our lives are always moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts. What we think shapes who we are.” Craig Groeschel
“Do not be conformed to the this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” The Apostle Paul
“Pray without ceasing.” The Apostle Paul
What do you think about in those moments when nothing else is occupying your attention? Where do my thoughts take me during the day? As Pastor Groeschel reminds us, our thoughts are always taking us somewhere. Where are your thoughts taking you?
We all live busy lives and it is easy to forgot about God in the hustle and bustle of our day. There is such a power, however, in connecting with the Holy Spirit throughout the day. What would change if you took thirty seconds to pray before that important meeting or made that phone call that you have been putting off? How would things shift if I asked God for wisdom and grace before I had that difficult conversation with my child, a subordinate at work, or the boss?
What I have found is that Jesus wants to be integrally connected to everything that I do. He never forces his way in, however, preferring to be invited. When I ask, though, I see evidence of the Holy Spirit working in ways that I could have never imagined.
How do you understand this process of taking control of our thought life? What does renewing your mind look like in your person experience?
